NBIV France was created in October 2023 and focuses on the national but also international market.

NBIV is recognized in particular for all lobster hatcheries designed and installed throughout the world.

NBIV France wants to be in the heart of Normandy, cradle of the largest European fishing and marine culture park.

Shellfish disease, resistance, genomics and restoration

2003-2005 – (BOLCI) of Bonamia ostrea Life cycle investigations, optimized production of resistant Ostrea edulis. Q5CR-CT-2002-72338 (€1.3 million)

2010 -2013 (OYSTERECOVER) Establish the scientific bases, procedures and technical standards to recover European production of flat oysters through strategies aimed at combating the main constraint, bonamiosis. ID 243583 (€3.2 million)

 

Detection and mitigation of seafood and fish toxins, and development of test kits

2002-2005 – (TALISMAN) Algal toxins, their accumulation and loss in commercially important shellfish, including larval mortality and evaluation of accelerated depuration. Q5CR-2002-70849 (€1.6 million)

2006-2009 – (SPIES DETOX) Active biological monitoring and removal of toxins in aquaculture ecosystems and shellfish – including development of an in situ solid phase ecosystem sampler and detoxification of shellfish. ID 30270 (€3 million)

2011-2013 – (BEADS) Bioengineered micro-encapsulation of active agents delivered to shellfish. ID 262649 (€1.5 million)

2012-2015 – (CIGUATOOLS) Development of a rapid test kit and compatible reference standards capable of detecting ciguatoxin, an emerging fish toxin, in European and global waters. ID 315285 (€1.5 million)

2013–2018 – (ENVIGUARD) Development of biosensor technology for environmental monitoring and disease prevention in aquaculture ensuring food safety. ID 614057 (€7.18 million)
